First Day of School Info – Finley Elementary School

We are excited to welcome our Finley families back for the 2026-2027 school year! Please review the schedule for Monday, August 3.

1st-5th Grade (8:00-11:00 a.m.): Students and families may come meet their teacher and pick up registration packets.
Pre-K (8:30 a.m.): There will be a mandatory parent meeting in the library. Students should not attend.
Kindergarten (8:00-11:00 a.m.): Parents will sign up for a testing time, half-day, and full-day attendance options in the cafeteria. Students do not need to attend.

Please Note:

Buses will run on August 3.
Breakfast will not be served.
Attendance will be taken.

Kindergarten Information – Finley Elementary School

We are excited to welcome our newest Finley students for the 2026-2027 school year! Please review the important Kindergarten dates below:

August 3: Parents may stop by between 8:00-11:00 a.m. to sign up for testing, half-day, and whole-day options and pick up a registration packet.
August 4, 5, or 6: Kindergarten testing days (approximately 30 minutes per student). Parents may choose the day and time that works best for them.
August 7, 10, or 11: Half-day attendance options (7:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.).
August 12, 13, or 14: Whole-day attendance options.
August 17: All Kindergarten students attend school for the full day.

🎄 The DCHS Band will host its annual Holiday Mart this Saturday, November 15, from 8:00 AM–3:00 PM in the DCHS Commons and Gym.

Admission is free!
Come shop with over 70 vendors, enjoy multiple food trucks, and enter to win door prizes throughout the day.
Santa will also be available for pictures with children!

Preschool registration information for the 2025-2026 school year!

🚨 School Closure Notice 🚨 All Dyer County Schools will be closed on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025 due to flooding. Stay safe, Choctaws!

Notary Night!

Open enrollment for the Dyer County School System will end Friday, August 2, 2024, at 3:00 pm. To be eligible for open enrollment, all required documents, proof of age, 2023-2024 report card, attendance and discipline, must be received by 3:00 pm. After this date, a student must provide required proof of residency to transfer schools.

October Lunch Menu

Beginning tomorrow, October 13 - Tuesday, October 17, 2023, HWY 104 West will be closed to through traffic. The closure will start at the intersection of HWY 104 W and Carter Lane (traveling from Dyersburg toward Finley) and from Big Boy Junction to Upper Finley Road (traveling from Finley toward Dyersburg).

Due to extreme heat, ALL Dyer County Schools outside sporting events have been canceled today, August 24, 2023. Stay cool & hydrated, Choctaws!
