6th grade STEM students recently used the Engineering Design Process to complete a Phase I catapult design. Students tested their designs in a competitive battle against another team's catapult. Each team received 3 chances to get a "direct hit" on their opponent's catapult. Phase I catapults could only be constructed with cardboard, tape, a wooden dowel, and rubber bands. They were launching small foil spheres.
