Finley Elementary Leadership Club students recently welcomed alum Whitley DeSpain Snyder, owner of SmallCakes, for a fun and meaningful learning experience.
Using her knowledge of baking, Whitley showed how simple ingredients and heat transform into something new—connecting that idea to how leadership qualities like resourcefulness, perseverance, and creativity can grow through challenges such as school, peer pressure, and extracurriculars. She also encouraged students to think about ways to avoid burnout and use their leadership skills to serve others.
Students enjoyed decorating their own cupcakes and left with a special reminder of the lesson to add to their leadership toolboxes.
