In 1998, I graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Learning (1-8 Education).

In 2002, I earned a certification from the University of Arkansas as a Reading Recovery Advocate.

I received a Masters Degree in Reading from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona in 2009.

Upon graduation from the University of Memphis, I was offered a position as a first grade teacher at Finley Elementary. I have been teaching first grade for 15 years. I have been a Reading Recovery Advocate for 11 years.

I have been blessed with two wonderful children. My son Joshua is 22 years old and a senior at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. My daughter Julia is 21 and a junior at the University of Tennessee at Martin. I love to spend time with my children and my family. I enjoy working on the Damascus project, a non-profit Christian organization, and with the Dyer County jail ministry. My hobbies include home decorating, hiking, traveling, and of course reading. I am a 2nd generation teacher. I truly love teaching and helping children reach their full potential.
