Bachelors degree in Human Learning Pre-K-3rd grade from the UT Martin (1999)

Masters of Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University (2007)

This is the beginning of my 17th year of teaching!  My career began in 1999 in Caruthersville, MO, where I taught 3rd grade Title VI and Kindergarten.  I worked at DSCC for the Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance from 2001-2004.  In 2004, I began teaching kindergarten at Dyersburg Primary School.  Then, I was able to teach Pre-k there for five years before joining the Finley Elementary staff in 2010.  After teaching kindergarten at FES for five years, I've had the opportunity to return to Pre-k this year.  I am so excited and looking forward to a great year with Ms. Nikki and the children!

I grew up in Dyersburg, where I attended school from K-12th grade.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a very young age because I have always enjoyed being with children.  I have been married to Jason Leonard since 2004.  We were married in my favorite city, Las Vegas.  We have two children, Will and Katie Brooke.

A few years ago, I helped to establish a paper recycling program at our school.  I feel this is just a small step to teaching our children to respect the Earth.  I look forward to another great year at FES!
