In 2007, I graduated as Salutatorian from Dyer County High School. After graduation, I began my college career as a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin. In three years, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Integrated Studies (K-6) with a 4-8 add-on endorsement. I returned to UT Martin and obtained an endorsement in Educational Leadership in fall 2016. In December 2017, I completed three additional courses in ESL and earned my Masters+30.

I obtained a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arkansas State University in August of 2014.

Upon graduation from UT Martin, I returned back to my hometown of Finley, Tennessee. I was offered a position in 2010 as a kindergarten teacher (my dream job) at Finley Elementary. I am no stranger to Finley Elementary. I attended FES as a little girl. After teaching kindergarten for three years, I graciously took the opportunity to move to second grade. After spending two years in second grade, I looped to third grade and spent two years there. It was such a wonderful learning experience! In the 2017-2018 school year, I moved back to second grade. When the 2018-2019 school year starts, I will begin my ninth year of teaching. I absolutely love teaching second grade and working with Mrs. Amber!

In 2012 I married Jake McMackins. We met at UTM. We love the UT Vols and enjoy attending games together each fall. We are active members of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. Jake and I try to spend our "free time" visiting our families. We are "fur" parents to the cutest and smartest four year old, black lab, Ethel.
