Education

In 2007, I graduated as Salutatorian from Dyer County High School. After graduation, I began my college career as a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin. In three years, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Integrated Studies (K-6 Education) with a 4-8 add-on endorsement. In 2015, I started back to UT Martin and look forward to obtaining an endorsement in Educational Leadership in fall 2016. When I receive my ESL endorsement in December 2017, I will have obtained my Masters+30.

I obtained a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arkansas State University in August of 2014.

Experience

Upon graduation from UT Martin, I returned back to my hometown of Finley, Tennessee. I was offered a position in 2010 as a kindergarten teacher (my dream job) at Finley Elementary. I am no stranger to Finley Elementary. I attended FES as a little girl. After teaching kindergarten for three years, I graciously took the opportunity to move to second grade. After spending two years in second grade, I looped to third grade and spent two years there. It was such a wonderful learning experience! For the 2017-2018 school year, I've moved back to second grade. I'm so excited to be a second grade teacher again! Second grade is my favorite grade, and I'm looking forward to working with Amber and our students.

Bio

Hi! I'm Meredith McMackins. My husband, Jake, and I met at UTM. We love the UT Vols and enjoy attending games together each fall. We are active members of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. Jake and I try to spend our "free time" visiting our families. We are "fur" parents to the cutest and smartest three year old, black lab, Ethel.
