Principal's Bio

My school journey began many years ago. I am an alumni of the Aviston Eagles (Elementary School) and Mater Dei Knights(High School). My collegiate adventure began at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL where I earned a Bachelors in Education (Special and Elementary Education)

Upon graduation, I began my teaching career in Knoxville, TN. I taught at Northwest Middle School where I learned quite a bit about not only being a teacher, but diversity as well. It was during this time I earned my Masters degree in Educational Administration for Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN.

My teaching journey continued when my family moved to Dyersburg, TN. I started in the Dyer County School System with an interim position at Three Oaks Middle School and then another at Dyer County High School. I was very fortunate to continue at Dyer County High School as a math special education teacher. My journey continued as I transitioned from the classroom setting to a consulting position.  I became the Special Education Consultant for the two middle schools and high school for Dyer County. It was during this time I began my doctoral degree. I earned my Doctorate in Special Education Leadership from Capella University in Minneapolis, MN.

The journey continues on in my current role as Principal.
