Congratulations to Mrs. Cindy Taylor 

for being selected as Finley Elementary's

Teacher of the Year



Finley Elementary is proud to announce Mrs. Cindy Taylor as Finley’s Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Cindy currently teaches 5th grade, but has also taught 3rd and 4th grade. She has 18 years of teaching experience, 9 of which have been with the Dyer County School System. Mrs. Cindy earned her Bachelor’s degree from Erskine College in South Carolina and her Master’s degree from North Georgia College in Georgia.


Her leadership skills have contributed to many opportunities for our students and staff. She is the team leader of Finley’s Relay for Life team. She is the co-sponsor of the Leadership Club and STEM Club. She has also served on the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee.


The best words to describe Mrs. Cindy are encourager, relational and passionate about learning. As you walk into Mrs. Cindy’s room you can immediately sense the class is a family. She takes the time to develop relationships with her students and takes a team approach towards building student success. She has great communication with parents and encourages parental involvement. She also has a love of reading which she shares with her students through novel studies and exposure to good quality, award-winning literature.


Mrs. Cindy grew up in the Atlanta area and has been married for almost 29 years. She has 3 children, Katie, Emily and Mason. In the community, Mrs. Cindy participates in Dyer County Relay for Life and is a member of First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg. When she has the opportunity she enjoys traveling and experiencing new cities in the country.
